Driving in Dubai Marina and JBR
The Marina and JBR sit right beside Sheikh Zayed Road, so it is quick to get onto the main highway in either direction. Inside the neighbourhood, roads are busier and slower, with plenty of pedestrians, delivery riders and drivers stopping at tower entrances. Take your time and watch for people crossing near the beach and The Walk.
Salik toll gates near the Marina
There is no Salik gate inside Dubai Marina or JBR. According to this Gulf News list of all 10 gates, the nearest are both on Sheikh Zayed Road: the Al Barsha gate, which you pass heading towards Mall of the Emirates and Downtown, and the Jebel Ali gate in the other direction, further along the road towards Jebel Ali.

Parking in the Marina and at JBR
Parking around the Marina is a mix of public RTA parking, private car parks run by other operators, and residents’ parking in each tower. The rules differ, so always read the sign before you leave the car.

At The Beach and other Parkonic car parks, cameras read the number plate and you pay through the Parkonic app, a QR code or a kiosk before you leave, or automatically through a linked Salik account, as Property Finder explains. Unpaid parking on a rental car comes back to the renter, so pay before you drive out. If you are unsure, send us a photo of the sign on WhatsApp.
Tips for a smooth drive
- Leave extra time on Friday and weekend evenings, when the beach and The Walk are at their busiest
- Set your navigation before you leave the tower, as Sheikh Zayed Road exits come up quickly
- Follow posted speed limits rather than the flow of traffic; speed cameras are common across Dubai
- Tell us your tower name and any lobby or car park instructions so the delivery driver finds you first time
